Taking Back Control of Communication

For many of us, social media has taken over as our main communication tool. I am not an exception. I’ve always been aware that relying on platforms we don’t own makes us vulnerable to the shifting priorities of big tech.

With major global changes unfolding, I’ve decided to bring my website back to life.

Why This Matters

As a communicator and service provider, I’ve generally avoided topics like politics, religion, or personal biases. While I still believe in professional neutrality, I also think it’s important to acknowledge shifts that challenge core values.

Recent changes in AI ownership, online content rights, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) policies are concerning. They no longer align with the standards I uphold. These standards are important both in my work and my life.

The Problem with Big Tech Dependence

Many of us rely on tech giants for our communications, often without realizing how much control we’ve given up. The digital landscape is shifting rapidly, and it’s time to recognize these changes and take action.

What I’m Doing About It

This is my first step: reclaiming control over my content. From now on, my original work—blogs, videos, and photography—will be available exclusively on alfred-jansen.com. Social media will remain a tool for updates, but the real content lives here.

Welcome back to Alfred-Jansen.com

Here, you’ll find my work in communications, photography, and DEI. Let’s stay connected—on our own terms.
