Queer Communication

Clear without Fear: The Power of Queer Communication

Queer Communication evolved from my earlier work in Inclusive Communication — which is still going strong, as you can find out here. Queer Communication follows the same approach, but I’ve given it a sharper and more explicit focus on Queer issues and perspectives, especially the challenges we face in our lives and in our communities.

Over many years of working professionally across different fields of communication — alongside my activities in photography, design, art, activism, and education — I have developed a more realistic, non-performative way of communicating. One that goes beyond good intentions and polished language, and uses an approach that feels much more “me” and, hopefully, much more “you” — and definitely more community-oriented and more activist in spirit.

From Inclusive to Queer

Queer Communication is based on my approach to “Inclusive Communication.” I realized, however, that within our communities, we do face some specific issues that require specific approaches. That is why Queer Communication builds on the foundation of inclusivity while sharpening its focus. It places even greater emphasis on visibility, clarity, humanity, responsibility, and activism. In the sections below, you can read about the themes I believe are essential for understanding and practicing Queer Communication today.

If you haven’t yet read my earlier posts on Inclusive Communication, I suggest you start there before diving deeper into the Queer Communication posts below. I’m also happy to share my thoughts with you, answer your questions, doubts, or comments, either personally or in a community setting, so if you’re interested — just reach out. 😉

Queer Without Fear

“Queer without Fear” means being comfortable in your communication — speaking openly and honestly, with confidence. It is not about shaping your words just to be liked, for instance. In a queer context, it means standing up for who you are and trusting your voice. Being clear is not always easy; I know that from experience. But in the long run, being clear about who you are and what you stand for helps both you and your community.

From Inclusive to Queer Communication

Inclusive Communication has shaped my work for years — centred on clarity, respect, and making space for diverse voices. Now I’m taking it further with Queer Communication. This approach builds on inclusion while adding courage, creativity, and a willingness to question norms. Queer Communication resists erasure, challenges power, and embraces fluidity in how we speak, write, and create.

Curious what that looks like in practice? Read the full post and join me in rethinking how we connect — and what becomes possible when we do.

Queer Communication – How to Deal With Dis- and Misinformation

Dis- and misinformation shape the world we live in — and Queer communities are often among the first targets. In this post, I explore how false narratives spread, how power manipulates information, and why Queer Communication must respond strategically and creatively. Building on Inclusive Communication, this approach goes further: questioning norms, resisting propaganda, and using clarity as activism. From practical fact-checking tips to reclaiming our stories through art and media, this is about speaking truth with responsibility and courage.

Queer Communication – Writing, Visualising, and Publishing

When I came out, I learned that communication is more than expression — it’s survival, resistance, and love. In this post, I explore how Queer Communication helps us write, visualise, and publish our truths with quality, authenticity, and impact. From activist writing to photography, zines, and smart use of digital platforms, this is about reclaiming our narratives and using creativity as liberation. We may not control the systems, but we can shape our stories — and that is power.

Queer Communication – Understanding Online and Offline Media

Queer Communication is about using media—online and offline—strategically, creatively, and safely to connect, resist, and build community. While social platforms give us visibility, they also monitor, silence, and distort queer voices. By combining writing, photography, performance, zines, and events, we can reclaim our narratives, amplify truth, and strengthen solidarity. It’s about quality, authenticity, and effectiveness—turning every post, image, and action into a tool for liberation, connection, and joy.

Queer Communication – Understanding Bullying and Responding with Clarity

Bullying and non-physical abuse target queer people more often, but communication can be a powerful tool to respond, protect, and build resilience. Recognizing patterns, setting boundaries, documenting incidents, and seeking support help us navigate harm safely. Effective communication also educates others, fosters safer spaces, and strengthens community solidarity. Whether through words, storytelling, or creative expression, we can assert ourselves, amplify collective resilience, and challenge oppression. Remember: strategies matter, but your mental health matters too — seek professional support when needed.

Queer Communication – Uniting Different Generations

Queer communities thrive when generations connect. Each—from Boomers to Generation Alpha—has its own language of survival, shaped by history, struggle, and creativity. Understanding these differences helps us bridge gaps, strengthen solidarity, and resist divisions. My upcoming performance, Rayge.Uncovered, is a living experiment in creating spaces where all generations can share, connect, and inspire one another.

Queer Communication – Why I Wrote a New Manifesto

I didn’t plan to write a new Manifesto — but the world made it necessary. My 2026 Manifesto builds on the principles I’ve lived by for years — joy, love, wisdom, harmony — and updates them for today: clearer, bolder, and more action-oriented. For queer communities, a Manifesto is more than words; it’s resistance, protection, and a call to act. It’s a living guide to align values with action, challenge division, and communicate with clarity and courage.

Queer Communication – The Jester Becomes Today’s Queer Communicator

The Jester, or Narrenfreiheit, is a timeless model for speaking truth where others cannot. Historically, Jesters earned trust to observe, mediate, and communicate sensitive truths without fear of retaliation. Today, this model is radical — especially for queer communities — because it values trust over trends, substance over spectacle, and connection over applause.

Rayge.Uncovered embodies the modern Jester: a Queer Communicator who listens deeply, moves between worlds, and addresses taboo topics — age, gender, HIV, power, and oppression — with care, courage, and intention. This role creates safer spaces, strengthens queer voices, and proves that truth doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.

Queer Communication – Rayge.Uncovered is Alive… and kicking

I’m thrilled to share my next step in Queer Communication: Rayge.Uncovered! This activist performance act brings together my life, beliefs, art, and professional experience in communication, visuals, and photography. Rayge focuses on presence, authenticity, and personal connection — appearing in public or intimate spaces, sometimes even as a Human Canvas.

Guided by joy, love, wisdom, and harmony, Rayge challenges binaries, resists colonial and fascist systems, and centres care, community, and connection. Nakedness is used as a multidimensional language — emotional, ethical, and creative — to provoke, connect, and communicate truth.

Read this post to see how Rayge brings Queer Communication to life — and follow for upcoming events, collaborations, and ways to engage!
